Job Description



As a member of our Finance & Accounting team, this position will be responsible for overseeing all day to day accounting operations for NRG Systems including related projects and yearly audits. Daily operations include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory Accounting, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Credit, Bank Reconciliation and General Ledger. This position sits on the company’s Operating Group and has direct management responsibility for the accounting team.


This position reports to the VP of Finance. This person will work in partnership with his or her team to achieve the goals of the department plan that are in line with company values, culture, and philosophies.



• Provide direct supervision of accounting staff, including monthly and annual performance reviews and compensation reviews

• Responsible for all general day to day Accounting matters

• Responsible for oversight of month-end close; ensure accurate account reconciliations, adequate supporting documentation and ensure timely reporting

• Oversight of year-end close processing

• Provide mentoring and development of Accounting staff

• As member of the Operating Group, participates in periodic meetings to discuss company-wide topics and lead department in any related OG initiatives

• Approve customer credit terms

• Review and approve necessary Government Surveys

• Work with Sales/Supply Chain Services on issuing and collecting on Letters of Credit

• Responsible for review of any changes to accounting procedures and work instructions

• Ensure compliance with all accounting procedures

• Implements and enforces new policies, procedures, and system upgrades

• Responsible for all aspects of company ERP system, including setup of new modules, maintenance of modules, and any additional add-on software maintenance

• Primary administrator for credit card system and system

• Manage Sales Tax Registration, Reporting and Filing for all nexus states

• Coordinate and act as liaison to auditors and Third party financial consultants (Rubin Brown)

• Responsible for completing ESCO annual and quarterly reporting requests both timely and accurately

• Conduct Financial Analysis as needed

• Works closely with FP&A Director on all aspects of month-end and quarter-end reporting

• Serves as backup for FP&A Director and Accounting functions as necessary

• Hold signature authority




• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business

• 5+ years relevant experience, at least two of which is in a manufacturing setting

• Working knowledge of all daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting functions

• Demonstrated leadership skills

• Knowledge and understanding of GAAP/Accounting principles

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are key

• Experience working in a public company a plus

• Experience managing diverse teams, including skills in coaching, mentoring and developing others

• Some knowledge and experience in systems thinking – understanding the whole and its related parts

• Ability to work in a hands-on way to understand the various components of the accounting function

• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral

• Excellent teamwork

• Attention to detail



• Work performed in a climate controlled office environment.
